A's closer Grant Balfour has been named as a late addition to the American League's All-Star Game roster.
Balfour will replace teammate Bartolo Colon, who started Sunday's A's game against the Boston Red Sox, on the active roster for the Midsummer Classic in New York.
"It's something that you definitely want to cross off the list," said Balfour when asked what the All-Star honor means to him. "I'm going to just soak it in and enjoy the environment."
The right-handed reliever has converted all 25 of his save chances this season while posting a 1.67 ERA.
