PHOENIX -- The Oakland Athletics are ready for their Cactus League home opener. They will be hosting the Cleveland Indians at Phoenix Municipal Stadium. Here's A's manager Bob Melvin's starting lineup.

Monday's Lineup:

Coco Crisp, CF
Jed Lowrie, 2B
Josh Reddick, RF
Yoenis Cespedes, DH
Brandon Moss, 1B
Hiro Nakajima, SS
John Jaso, C
Josh Donaldson, 3B
Michael Taylor, LF

Expected to Pitch:

Andrew Werner, Sonny Gray, Evan Scribner, Hideki Okajima, Jordan Norberto.

Injury Updates:

Chris Young left Sunday's game with a cramp in his left quadricep. He wasn't scheduled to play on Monday, and he won't be in Tuesday's lineup either. The club wants to get him an extra day of rest, just to be safe. Young was on the field doing base running drills and is running and walking around perfectly fine.

"It's just precautionary, he's fine. He'll do everything today," Melvin said. "At this time in the spring we'll just give him another day and make sure we have it completely taken care of."

Grant Balfour remains ahead of schedule after undergoing a lateral meniscectomy of his right knee 11 days ago. He should still be well on track to be game ready by opening day.

"I saw him the other day trying to sneak intro a drill," Melvin said. "It's more trying to keep him out of things. It's not for a lack of him feeling like he can do things."

Looking Ahead:

Here's the A's lineup for Tuesday against Arizona.

Eric Sogard 3B
Hiro Nakajima, SS
Josh Reddick, RF
Brandon Moss, 1B
Josh Donaldson, DH
Seth Smith, LF
Scott Sizemore, 2B
Derek Norris, C
Michael Choice, CF

The following pitchers will be on the mound: A.J. Griffin, Arnold Leon, Mike Eckstrom, Fernando Rodriguez.

The A's will be allowed to use a DH at Arizona because Bob Melvin negotiated it for the first game. When the Diamondbacks lost the use of their practice field after the hail storm last week, the A's let them practice at Papago Park. As a result, Melvin was able to snag another DH day from them.

Griffin was particularly pleased that he didn't have to hit on Tuesday.
