The Sharks opened training camp on Sunday with 28 players are on the roster, including 15 forwards, 11 defensemen and two goalies.

Forwards: Adam Burish, Ryane Clowe, Logan Couture, Andrew Desjardins, TJ Galiardi, Michal Handzus, Martin Havlat, Bracken Kearns, Patrick Marleau, John McCarthy, Frazer McLaren, Joe Pavelski, James Sheppard, Joe Thornton, Tommy Wingels.

Defensemem: Dan Boyle, Justin Braun, Brent Burns, Jason Demers, Matt Irwin, Douglas Murray, Matt Pelech, Nick Petrecki, Brad Stuart, Matt Tennyson, Marc-Edouard Vlasic.

Goalies: Thomas Greiss, Antti Niemi.

In a closed practice that began shortly after noon, 26 of the 28 players were on the ice. Defensemen Jason Demers (fractured wrist) and Brent Burns (lower body) did not participate.

Justin Braun, who was wearing a cast on Friday after breaking the hamate bone in his hand in Finland, was a notable participant.

The Sharks will skate at 1:30 in a practice open to the public.
