Updated: The Sharks have announced their opening night roster.

There will be 23 players will be available to the coaching staff on Sunday against Calgary when the Sharks open their 22nd season against the Flames, although defenseman Brent Burns is not expected to play.

The breakdown is as follows:

Forwards (13): Adam Burish, Ryane Clowe, Logan Couture, Andrew Desjardins, TJ Galiardi, Michal Handzus, Marty Havlat, Patrick Marleau, Frazer McLaren, Joe Pavelski, James Sheppard, Joe Thornton, Tommy Wingels.

Defense (8): Dan Boyle, Justin Braun, Matt Irwin, Douglas Murray, Nick Petrecki, Brad Stuart, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Brent Burns.

Goalies (2): Thomas Greiss, Antti Niemi.

Injured (1): Jason Demers (wrist).

Forwards Bracken Kearns and John McCarthy and defensemen Matt Pelech and Matt Tennyson were reassigned to Worcester, according to the AHL’s official website.
