NEW ORLEANS -- Mario Manningham took a full 20 seconds to ponder the question because he wanted to allow proper time to consider all the possibilities for his answer.

Who will be the Mario Manningham of this year's Super Bowl?

"The game changer?" Manningham asked for clarification.

Yes.

And the clock began.

Who will be the player who makes the highlight play that people will remember. Last year, Manningham made a sensational over-the-shoulder catch of an Eli Manning pass along the left sideline and somehow managed to get both been inbounds for a 38-yard gain to open the New York Giants' game-winning drive against the New England Patriots.

So, which player will be the hero in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday when the 49ers face the Baltimore Ravens at the Superdome? Manningham, who signed with the 49ers as a free agent but is out with a knee injury, took his time and gave his answer careful thought.

"I think Randy (Moss)," Manningham said. "Yeah, I think Randy and Kap. . . Yeah, I think so. That's an honest answer."

Moss has averaged fewer than two catches a game in the 49ers' 18 games of the season. In two playoff games, Moss has five receptions for 71 yards. But Manningham said he has a feeling that quarterback Colin Kaepernick will team up with Moss in a big way in the big game.

"He has that mentality," Manningham said. "That's how he is. He's a play away from breaking it. That's Randy. You're talking about Randy Moss."
