Krukow's prediction: Dodgers end World Series drought

The Dodgers have not been to the World Series since they won the title in 1988.

Giants broadcaster Mike Krukow believes that will change this October.

"The Dodgers have a chance to win this because of those two guys -- Kershaw and Greinke -- period, they have a chance to win the whole thing," he said on KNBR 680-AM on Wednesday morning. "Yeah, it would be painful for Giants fans, but I think that's the team that's gonna win the National League...

"I don't see a team that really has a chance to beat them, unless it's the Pirates, and I don't think the Pirates are gonna get past the Cubs."

The Dodgers open the NLDS against the Mets on Friday in Los Angeles.

Game 1 is Clayton Kershaw vs. Jacob deGrom, and Game 2 on Saturday is Zack Greinke vs. Noah Syndergaard.

Game 3 shifts to New York next Monday, with a potential Game 4 on Tuesday.

A winner-take-all Game 5 would be next Thursday back in LA.

"I don't think anybody that supports the Orange and Black is gonna do anything but root for the Mets," Krukow said. "And then if the Dodgers go to the next, then you're gonna be rooting for the Cardinals or the Cubs, that's kind of the way it's gonna be."

Since the Dodgers last reached the Fall Classic in '88, the Giants played in the World Series in 1989 and 2002, and won titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
