Jackson supports McClain, unless…

ALAMEDA -- Raiders head coach Hue Jackson showed support for his embattled middle linebacker on Monday, but that support won't be there if the NFL acts on Rolando McClain's arrest in Alabama. At first, Hue Jackson said he was angry when he heard the reports that Rolando McClain had been arrested on four misdemeanor counts, including discharging a firearm. But after speaking to his second-year player, Jackson said based on the information he garnered from his meeting with McClain, he believes his player didn't do anything wrong, and shouldn't be suspended. Jackson's stance will change if the NFL comes down on McClain with a suspension, however. If the league does act against McClain, Jackson said Monday "that means somebody's not telling the truth."The Raiders' coach said after Sunday's game in Miami, "if the league comes down on him, then I'm going to come down on him like you've never seen."Steve Corkran of the Oakland Tribune first reported on his Twitter page that the Raiders had two free-agent defensive players working with defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan today at practice, fueling speculation that the team could be lining up linebackers in case McClain was suspended, but Jackson said the workouts had nothing to do with McClain's situation.
