Raiders snap count: Joseph provides dramatic upgrade

Share

NASHVILLE, Tenn, -- The Raiders went young on defense. They had three rookies start on Sunday, playing crucial roles in Sunday’s 17-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium.

Karl Joseph was a fixture in the lineup and a dramatic upgrade at strong safety, someone who added physicality to a group that needed a spark.

He led the team in tackles and played well against the run, an anchor of a secondary in need of cohesion.

Cory James and Jihad Ward also started and finished this game, knowing full well the Raiders need an electric shock. Young guns provided that, with Joseph playing virtually every snap, save the time spent getting an IV to start the second half.
